XARC Spring 2009 Fox Hunt

The 13th annual Xerox Spring Fox hunt was held on Saturday morning May 9th to dovetail with National Fox Hunt weekend.  A group of eleven intrepid hunters gathered at the Wegman’s Café, located at the intersection of Bay Road and Empire Boulevard in Webster New York.  Sign-in commenced at 9 AM and was handled by the hosting hunt masters, Fred Miller (WO2P) and Judy Stonehill (N2KXS).  After a last minute briefing, the hunters were released to hunt at 9:30.  The hunt was scheduled to conclude at 12 noon.

Spam Protection

I've added some Spam protection to the website to try to alleviate the couple of fake registrations I have to delete daily.  It affects the registration page and a couple of others that have form submissions.
I don't think it is something we all haven't seen and used before, but if you have any difficulties, let me know.

40 Meters?

Since my station is QRT right now, has anyone listened to 40 meters since Mar. 29th?  There should have been a reduction in international broadcasters between 7110 and 7200 kHz.  Has anyone noticed a difference?

Need PC for the Club

Some of us have been discussing some ideas for the club, and one of the ideas
involves the use of a dedicated PC (more details forthcoming). I know sometimes
I have PCs around that are out of date for what I want to do, and end up getting
rid of them. But I don't have any right now.

Our current PCs are very old, mid-90s vintage and likely not up to snuff for
what we would like to accomplish.

So we're asking if any club member might have a used PC that they don't need
