The Xerox Amateur Radio Club (XARC) is comprised of Xerox employees, retirees, and friends, who have an interest in ham radio. XARC is located at the Xerox complex in Webster, NY (Monroe County FN13).

License Classes

I’d like to help organize some license classes, maybe starting after the first of the year.  Live instruction is probably not one of my strengths, but I would be willing to do most of the organizing and legwork, like scheduling, class materials, advertising, etc.

Would anyone be willing to do class instruction?  I know Lou Kohnen headed this up in the past, and seems like Mike Ishler, Larry Lavery helped out.  I think it might be a good time to see if we can create some new interest here at Xerox before we all retire!

New Website Theme

I decided to experiment with a new website theme.  I like the overall look, but it has some limitations.  For one, I am typing this into a window area that is the color of the page background.  Photos when displayed in the main content area often don't fit and have the right side cut-off.
It is one drawback of using contributed modules (features) and themes.  They don't always work well together.  Luckily it is relatively easy to switch back to the default design.  I may also see if I can tweak the design manually.

XARC Photos Now Working

I have got the photos working again.  Everything on the website is stored in a database, and for some reason a table became corrupted.  It took some investigating because the suggested fixes weren't working, and I ended up having to purge the table and reload all the photos.
No known reason for the problem, just some sort of anomaly.

XARC Photos is Broken

There is a problem with the XARC Photos section.  I have been working on it without any luck so far, but still trying.  Worst case I can reupload and recreate the albums.  I will post again when it is fixed.
