W2XRX and Low Bands

It seems our HF vertical has met its end, probably last winter some time.  Since this antenna enabled our capibilities on 80m, 40m (and warc bands), I am wondering whether we should look into some sort of HF antenna to enable these bands again.
A vertical may not be a good option, since every one we've had failed in fairly short order.  Also, coax feed is probably a necessity, since we have a long distance to the roof through various steel girders.
 
Any ideas?
